Learning what are the triggering factors of inflammation and how to reduce and eliminate them can prevent and reverse most diseases.

4.00 pm:  Ayurvedic Cooking Class:  The Role of Seasonal Detoxification and Panchakarma

PanchakarmaMaureen Sutton of House of Sanjevani specializes in offering a unique Ayurvedic detoxification program called Panchakarma, an ancient traditional detoxification process from India. The purpose of Panchakarma is to rid the body of accumulated toxins (ama) in order to prepare it for rejuvenation and healing (which can only occur once the toxins are removed). Panchakarma includes a series of luxurious therapeutic massages and treatments, basti (oil and herbs enema) daily, dietary recommendations, yoga, pranayama, meditation as well as educational classes daily.

The first explorers risked their lives travelling to far away lands to find exotic spices.  Maureen Sutton, Plant-based Nutrition Counselor will teach you about these medicinal herbs and spices and how you can use them in your cooking at home to improve your health.

Just as a well-tended fire burns its fuel down, leaving behind only ashes, the digestive system should also be well-tended and not leave behind half digested foods or unwanted by-products.  Learn how to rekindle the fire in your belly to improve your digestive system and alleviate discomforts and diseases of the gut through Ayurvedic foods.  This is an experiential class in which you will try out the delicious food samples Maureen Sutton and Dr. Pai create for you.
